Free Pensioners and Veterans Hearing Aids

Free Hearing Tests and Hearing Aids for Pensioners and Veterans

If you are a Pensioner or Veteran you may be eligible for free hearing tests. You may also be eligible for fully or partially subsidised hearing aids.  We can supply these under the Australian Government's Hearing Services Program (HSP). The aim of the HSP is to assist people with hearing loss improve their quality of life through better hearing.

General information on the HSP

You are eligible for the Hearing Services Program (HSP) if you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident 21 years or older, and you are:

  • Pensioner Concession Card Holder;
  • Receiving Sickness Allowance from Centrelink;
  • The holder of a Gold Repatriation Health Card issued for all conditions;
  • The holder of a White Repatriation Health Card issued for hearing loss;
  • A dependent of a person in one of the above categories;
  • A member of the Australian Defence Force.

I'm already receiving services under HSP elsewhere.  I wish to move to Melbourne Audiology Centre what do I need to do?

If you are already receiving services under the program with another audiologist and you wish to receive services from Melbourne Audiology Centre, it is easy to arrange.  Please contact us to book your appointment.  Under the HSP program, you have a right to choose the audiologist that you want.  People relocate for various reasons including;

  • dissatisfaction with the services they are currently receiving,
  • moving house
  • a friend recommended Melbourne Audiology Centre.

We have hearing centres in the following convenient  locations: Fitzroy, CBD, Sunshine, Werribee, Thomastown, Dandenong, Taylors Lakes, Templestowe, Bentleigh, and Frankston

Melbourne Audiology Centre is a contracted service provider under the Hearing Services Program.  We abide by the rules and obligations of this contract.  All of our clinicians are registered and have a QP (Qualified Practitioner) number under the HSP.  They comply with the rules and hearing outcome obligations of the program.
