Many Pensioners and Veterans are eligible for free services under the Australian Government's  Hearing Services Program (OHS).  Under this program, eligible clients are issued with a voucher for hearing services. This is termed a 'New' voucher.  Melbourne Audiology Centre is an approved service provider for this program. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the program or your patients' eligibility to the program.

If your patient has not accessed this service previously, the application for the program requires a medical clearance. You can download a paper application form here and complete the medical section. Your patient can then bring this form along to their assessment appointment with us and we can process their application and issue them with the voucher at their appointment.  If your patient is already under the program, when they book their appointment with us, we can check their current status and advise them on what services they are eligible for.

Following the assessment, the audiologist will make the appropriate recommendations based on the degree of hearing loss and the hearing and communication difficulties experienced by the patient.  If hearing aids are recommended, a range of options will be discussed so that the patient can make an informed choice.
