Can I get hearing aids and hearing services under NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the Hearing Services Program (HSP) work alongside each other to support Australians with hearing loss.

The NDIS funds hearing supports for NDIS participants aged 26 and over who are not eligible HSP. The NDIS also funds additional reasonable and necessary hearing supports for participants if they are not available through the HSP. This includes people under 26.

Melbourne Audiology Centre can provide hearing services and hearing aids for NDIS participants who’s funds are self-managed or plan-managed. Please contact us if you have any questions about hearing services under the NDIS.

NB: If your NDIS plan is NDIA-managed, we will be able to provide services soon. We are in the process of becoming a NDIS registered provider and we expect our registration very soon.

Hearing test to support your application to the NDIS.

If you need a hearing assessment to support your application to the NDIS, our audiologists can provide this diagnostic assessment. For this 1 hour diagnostic assessment you may be able to receive a Medicare benefit or you may be eligible for services under the Government’s Hearing Services Program (HSP). The initial diagnostic audiological assessment is NOT funded by the NDIS.
