Diagnostic clinical hearing tests for adults and children over 5 years of age
A comprehensive diagnostic hearing test with one of our clinicians takes 1hr. During this appointment, your clinician will take a detailed history of your ear and medical health and your hearing and communication concerns. They will conduct tests, explain your results and answer your questions. If you do have a hearing loss, together with your clinician you can discuss treatment options, which may range from communication strategies, hearing aids and other devices, to a referral to your GP or another medical specialist.
Pensioners, veterans and other eligible clients under the Government's Hearing Services Program may be eligible for a free diagnostic hearing test
Pensioners, veterans may be eligible for free hearing assessments and fully or partially subsidised hearing aid/s under the Government's Hearing Services Program (formerly OHS). Contact us for more information.
The price for the 1hr comprehensive hearing assessment is $175. Medicare rebates may be available with a GP referral to Melbourne Audiology Centre, please contact us for more information.

Free hearing screening tests
We offer two free hearing screening tests options. The hearing screening checks whether a hearing loss is present or not only. If a hearing loss is identified, a diagnostic test is recommended.
This quick test consists of an audio test and a short questionaire. The free online hearing test provides:
- an indication about whether you may have a hearing loss or not
- guidelines on what you can do if the tests detects that you do have a hearing loss
Please note, that this online hearing test does not replace a professional diagnostic hearing test conducted using calibrated equipment and in sound treated rooms. If you are concerned about your hearing you must have a comprehensive hearing evaluation in order to get accurate information about your hearing. Please contact us to arrange your appointment.

The incidence of hearing loss increases over the age of 50, if you are over 50 and worried about your hearing book a free, no obligation hearing check. It's available at any of our hearing clinics. An appointment is required. This quick hearing test will identify whether you have a hearing loss or not. The test includes:
- Otoscopy – we will examine the ear canal for wax occlusion
- A hearing test at 4 frequencies (or pitch).
- We conduct the test in sound proof/treated conditions using calibrated equipment.
- If your results show a hearing loss, your clinician will discuss the next steps.
